Subaru Centurion Canada Welcomes Oliver & Bonacini for the C50/C100 Post-Race Meal

Centurion Cycling is excited to announce Oliver & Bonacini as the official provider of the post-race meal for C50 and C100 athletes.  Oliver & Bonacini, the chic Blue Mountain eatery in the Westin Trillium, is custom built for full service mountain dining, offering an extensive a la carte breakfast, lunch and dinner selection, as well as some seriously indulgent culinary experiences.

Chef de Cuisine Jeremy Korten’s passion for food and wine brings another level of culinary excellence to Blue Mountain. Before coming to Blue Moutain, Jeremy had been a Sous Chef at Oliver & Bonacini Cafe Grill at Bayview Village, and prior to that has worked in many kitchens, including Chateau Whistler, Sen5es and Canoe.

Sam Roberts Band To Play Outdoor Concert For Subaru Centurion Canada

Join us on Saturday afternoon at 4pm for a concert in the Village from the Sam Roberts Band.  Thrilled with the release of their new album Collider, Sam Roberts Band’s music reinforces the spirit of the classic pop song craft and infectious melodies that countless critics have fallen in love with.  The band continues to be one of Canada’s most exciting rock acts, embraced throughout the country, with pockets of substantial support around the world.  The album released prior to Collider; Love At The End Of The World, is already shaping up to be Roberts’ most successful album to date, entering at No. 1 in Canada, according to Nielsen Soundscan.

Ironman Champion and Hometown Favorite Jasper Blake to Participate in Subaru Centurion Canada

Professional triathlete and Ironman Champion Jasper Blake will participate in the Subaru Centurion Canada Hill Climb. Blake, who has been competing around the world for more than 15 years, is coming home for this event having spent his teenage years in Collingwood.

“I’m incredibly excited to be coming back to my old home town for the Centurion,” said Blake.  ”Collingwood is where I got my start in endurance racing- I have logged many miles on the roads we will be on and it is one of my favorite places to ride on the planet.  Centurion Cycling events are really taking off across North America and it’s a pleasure to be part of the action.”

Blake’s accomplishments include dozens of top five finishes at Ironman and Half Ironman events as well as the 2006 Subaru Ironman Canada title.  Blake finished 5th in the 2011 Subaru Ironman Canada event this past weekend in Penticton, BC.

Gears Bike Shop To Provide Support for Subaru Centurion Canada

Centurion Cycling is excited to announce that Gears Bike Shop will be providing tech support for Subaru Centurion Canada.

Starting Friday, September 16th through Sunday, September 18th, Gears Bike Shop will offer ride and mechanical support. And, the Gears crew will be out in force at Gears basecamp, located at the main event grounds, and will also be providing assistance from the Gears support vehicles throughout the race. Whatever your needs are before, during and after the race Gears will be there to assist you.

Centurion Canada Supports Local Youth Programs Through Bike Donations

Ontario Cycling Association Junior Program
Beaver Valley Outreach's Summer Fun Day Camp

Centurion Cycling is pleased to announce the presentation of two bikes to Beaver Valley Outreach’s Summer Fun Day Camp Program.  The two mountain bikes will be used on a daily basis by the young campers, some of whom do not have bikes of their own.

The presentation was made by Subaru Centurion Canada Race Director Dan Mainguy. “This is our way to demonstrate to the community that we are committed to helping pave the way to good health, wellness and fitness for our youth.”

Beaver Valley Outreach is a charitable, non-for-profit, community based organization that is committed to offering quality program’s to enhance the well-being of children and families in the Town of the Blue Mountains.  Executive Director Carolyn Letourneau was in attendance at the presentation and commented, “We are delighted to partner with Centurion and look forward to working with them in the coming years.  BVO will consider the opportunity to field a charity team in the event to assist in our overall programs.”  For more information log onto, www.bvo.ca

Centurion Cycling has also awarded racing bikes to the top two junior cyclists of the Ontario Cycling Association and will continue to support that development program.  In addition to this support, Centurion Cycling provides grants to a number of community organization who assist as volunteers at their events.
