Sept. 13-15, 2013

Teams

Cycling is a very much a team sport. And at Centurion Cycling, we are big fans of cycling clubs and teams.

Cycling clubs, bike shop teams, corporate teams, or even a group of family and friends, go ahead and set up a team in our registration system.  And, your team members can register for any of the Centurion distances. First, have someone create your Team in the registration system, and then all team members can register under that team name.

For those Cycling Clubs and Teams interested in a little competition and bragging rights, we’ve created the Club Challenge and our Elite Signature Events. While the Elite Events are intended to serve as a platform for developing top level cyclists, the Club Challenge involves a club’s full membership.

CLUB CHALLENGE

To stoke the fire of competition between cycling clubs and teams, Centurion Cycling is presenting a Club Challenge at each of the four Centurion Cycling events.  Will your club win the title and get to take home the trophy for 2013?

Details for the Subaru Centurion Canada Club Challenge:

  • The registered club or team that earns the most points will win the Club Challenge competition.
  • Clubs/teams will earn points for each member who finishes in the top 3 of their respective age group category (male and female).
  • The following events qualify: C100, C50, C25, and the Individual Hill Climb.  Elite events are not counted in the Club Challenge.
  • To be eligible to earn points toward the Club Challenge, the participant must be registered under the club/team name prior to participating in any event.

ELITE EVENTS

The Elite Events are for top amateurs ready to race for the prize purse.  We are looking to the leadership of cycling clubs and teams to nominate their own top cyclists to compete in our Elite Events.

Elite is defined as a cyclists who would be a top rider on a state or provincial team and who typically averages 45kph.

  • At Subaru Centurion Canada, the Elite Event again this year is the Timex Vertical Challenge, a 5K trek up Scenic Caves Road (10-15% grade over 250 metres).  For the course map, please click HERE.

And, for the other events:

  • At Centurion Ontario, the Hell in the Horseshoe will test athletes.
