WHAT IS CENTURION CYCLING?
ONTARIO'S ENDURANCE WEEKEND
In 2009, after 30 plus years in the triathlon business, Graham Fraser, an avid athlete who has a self imposed mandate to help others get off the couch and get fit, conceived the idea of Centurion Cycling. Graham developed this platform to enable anyone and everyone to ride in a safe and fun environment, no matter the level of your fitness. From that concept, the motto "Racers race, Riders ride" was born. Centurion Cycling offers a great experience for everyone from the avid cyclist to the "I haven't been on a bike since I was a kid" person.
In order to give a variety of options to people, the C25, C50 and C100 became the staples of Centurion Cycling. The C25 is a 25 mile race/ride for die-hards and beginners alike. 25 miles is a starting point for some and a "go all out and race until you drop" for others. The C50 is the next step for those who have begun cycling recently, want to take the next step up from the C25, want a challenge to go hard and race a longer course or simply want to spend an afternoon challenging themselves and their friends. C100 is like the marathon of cycling...it's the ultimate challenge! It's for those who want to push themselves to conquer the beast of cycling.
Over the years, we've added a variety of events to enhance the cyclists experience. We have a kids race that benefits the Centurion Next Wave Cycling Team (see our Charity link for more information about CNWCT), Time Trial event, The Gran Centurion Stage Race, Post Race Party, Awards, Sports Expo and much more.
New in 2015 is the Gran Centurion Stage Race...a new and exciting way to make the weekend even more competitive and fun.
- Stage 1 - Time Trial 10K on Friday night
- Stage 2 - C50 on Saturday
- Stage 3 - C25 on Sunday
There will be 5 year age groups, with the age group winners winning the silver jersey.
